Swallowtail Kites

We've made three trips to photograph these birds - yearly in 2023, 2025 and 2025. It is always a thrilling experience to watch them come off their high Cypress Tree roosts and swoop down to get that first morning drink of water. This gallery captures the graceful flight of swallowtail kites, a bird unique to Florida. It showcases their precision flying skills against the backdrop of open skies and water. Alongside these elegant birds, you'll spot other seabirds and raptors like eagles and hawks, highlighting the diverse wildlife in motion at Woodruff National Wildlife Reserve near Deland, Florida
